The Big Hike of 1936 took the Black Hawk Hiking Club to Wolf River, Wisconsin; St. Jacques, St. Ignace, and Mackinac Island in Michigan; Sault Ste. Marie, Lake Temagami, Callander, Burk's Falls, Doe Lake, Niagra Falls, and Windsor in Ontaro; and Detroit, Michigan.

In 1937, the Black Hawk Hiking Club traveled south to Jefferson and Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri; Austin, Laredo, and Corpus Christi in Texas; Mamalique Pass, Monterrey, Guayalejo River, Rio Frio, Tamazunchale, Jacula, Zimipan, Teotihuacan, Huejotzingo, Puebla, Mexico City, the Popocatepetl Mountains, Cuernavaca, Tasco, and Acapulco in Mexico; Texarkana, Lousiana; and Quapaw Baths, Arkansas.

For the 19th Annual Big Hike, Black Hawk Hikng Club members journeyed to Darborn and Detroit in Michigan; Prescott, Ontario; Montreal, Quebec City, Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre, Montmorency Falls, Gaspe, Perce, Belle Anse, and Bonaventure Island in Quebec; Van Buren, Acadia National Park, and Bar Harbor in Maine; Hampton Beach, Gloucester, Concord, and Lexington in Massachussetts; Princeton, New Jersey; Newburgh and West Point in New York; and Scranton, Ohio.
